Mystery Yamaki Acoustic Guitar. Need help please!!?
I recently stumbled across a Yamaki acoustic guitar at a garage sale. I have tried looking it up on the internet. I have found nothing. Usually with a guitar there is sticker with the model number under the Sound Hole. On this particular model, it is stamped in black ink under the fretboard inside the guitar (so you have to tilt the guitar to see it.) The Model number is YW-30 140901. Just wondering if anyone has a little more information on this guitar. It looks a lot like the Yamaki AY370S that I found on a completed listing on eBay. You have found quite a buy even if you have not led onto the price you paid. I strongly disagree with the statement of being a mass producer. I have a Yamaki, and it was given to me for my graduation back in 1979 and only this very week, have I had to bring it in to have the action adjusted due to the moisture from one home to another. In 1979 these retailed from 150. to 225. You have a Great Guitar as I’ve made my living playing music from 1982 to 1999 going from town to town. The Chief knows a good brand, and you have one of them. Don’t be fooled by what you pick up in a garage sale, people often don’t want to be bothered with the research. ENJOY!!!
