acoustic guitar string question??

im looking to get a new guitar

It says on the description to play with Elixir Light gauge strings with NANOWEB coating, but i don’t really like light gauge strings, they sound too twangy and don’t really sound as heavy. I was wondering what strings are good for this guitar to get more of a deeper, heavier tone, but not too heavy. OR do these strings NEED to have those strings ??

Elixir is a pretty good string, I used them for a long time and still will, on occasion. You can go heavier on the gauge though. Taylors are well crafted and can withstand the tension. Try a set of 12 gauge Elixirs…of DRs. If you aren’t used to it it’s going to hurt a little at first, but your sound will be deeper. You might try tuning down a half or whole step as well to get a lower sound and ease the tension created by the heavier strings.
